The Jukebox #9 Anniversary Concert was a total success!! Saturday November 6, 2010 was the date that Beatles and Jukebox fans were waiting. The Jukebox celebrated their 9th Anniversary with a very special event at the Centro de Bellas Artes in Guaynabo.

Original Beatles drummer, Pete Best, performed with The Jukebox in a historic event. There was also Beatles artwork and memorabilia for display, as well as Jukebox and Beatles merchandise and collectibles for sale.

Everything started at 4:00 PM with the exhibition memorabilia displays and Beatles Rockband play stations for the kids. The Jukebox went on stage around 7:00 PM. The legendary member of The Beatles original line-up joined The Jukebox to perform "My Bonnie" to a frenzied crowd who stood on their feet and were dancing every beat, witnessing history in the making. The band slowed the pace with "PS I Love You" and quickly turned on things again with "I Saw Her Standing There", which had the crowd back in their feet and hundreds of camera flashes lit up the theater.

A representative of the Major of the city of Guaynabo went on stage and gave Pete Best a recognition plaque for his "contribution and inspiration to young musicians worldwide". Jukebox's Fan Club President Yamel Figueroa gave Pete Best a painted portrait of him in his "Hamburg" look.

The Major also recognized The Jukebox for their success making them "Distinguished Visitors of the City of Guaynabo". The crowd cheered both artists as the band went back for their final songs. The Jukebox first visit to Liverpool was a success. The guys visited the birthplace of The Beatles and a performance at the legendary Cavern Club on July 27 was the ending of the trip.

The band left San Juan International Airport on the 21 of July. They did a bit of beatle sightseing in London, visiting the famous Abbey Road Studios, in which The Beatles recorded their musical work. After that, it was all work, when they traveled to Liverpool to do two shows on the night on the 23 July, with the next days seing the guys doing interviews for BBC radio.

The highlight of the trip was the long awaited performance of The Jukebox at The Cavern Club. The Cavern Club became synonymous of The Beatles from 1961 to the end of 1962. In the decade that followed, a wide variety of popular acts appeared at the club including The Rolling Stones, The Yardbirds, The Kinks, Elton John, The Who and John Lee Hooker. The Beatles made 292 appearances at the club and it was one of this performances that made Brian Epstein sign them as their manager. The rest is history.

Now history was repeated with The Jukebox being the first Puerto Rican rock n' roll group to ever play at The Cavern. Pictures and a day by day account by Juan Carlos are posted on our PICTURES page. Click HERE to check them out.
